The Northumberland Rivers Trust is delighted to be able to announce a £234,000 grant from the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund!

Our Coquet 2020 Vision project will work with the Skill Mill to create jobs, improve fish passage at 20 sites and plant 6,000 trees.  We will also clear plastic from 20 miles of streams and deliver 20 nature walks with communities.

The Skill Mill is an award-winning organisation that provides skills, training and employment to young people.

The fish passes are at sites on the side streams of the river Coquet and will help salmon and sea trout get to their spawning grounds.

The project starts now and will run until March 2022.  More details to follow!
